This project was particularly exciting and challenging. It shows how much you can do with a house that initially may be pretty generic, but has an awesome layout. It also highlights how you can still design a space to be both functional and beautiful, even when on a budget. The goal of this house was twofold: to be a place that my client could continue to use to entertain his friends, but also elevate and expand its usage so he could start renting it out as a short-term rental when he isn't using it. So every choice was super intentional. It had to be of his taste, while also appealing to the masses and of course, being functional for high wear and tear usage.

 

Believe it or not, one poster was the inspiration for this entire house. It sparked a fairly unique color scheme that isn't seen that often in the area. Utilizing that we were able to put a modern Catskill spin on it, and rework the furniture to make the spaces way more functional. Lastly, because this client chose the partnership package, he was able to learn how to do this so that when he goes to expand his real estate portfolio, he now has a clearer sense of what sort of space and design will be the best return on his investment!
