Small spaces often require the biggest design solutions, and this charming backyard cottage was no exception.

Originally an underutilized outbuilding, our vision was to transform it into a fully functional Airbnb in the heart of the Catskills—a private retreat that feels every bit as intentional as a full-sized home. The challenge was maximizing every square foot while creating a space guests would want to book again and again.

The layout was completely reimagined to accommodate a custom kitchenette, a dedicated work-from-home nook, and a brand-new full bathroom without sacrificing comfort or style. Every inch was carefully considered to ensure the cottage felt open, practical, and effortless to live in, whether guests were staying for a weekend getaway or a longer remote-work escape.

Inspired by the surrounding landscape, we blended organic textures with rich, moody finishes to create a space that feels grounded, sophisticated, and inviting. Warm wood tones, layered textiles, natural materials, and modern details add depth and character, while a bright, airy interior keeps the cottage feeling larger than its footprint.

The result is a boutique-style Catskills Airbnb that offers the perfect balance of function and atmosphere—a cozy yet elevated retreat where guests can unplug, work remotely, or simply enjoy a quiet escape surrounded by nature. It proves that thoughtful interior design isn't about the size of a space—it's about making every square foot feel intentional, beautiful, and unforgettable.
